Our New Construction Sales Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving sales and cultivating relationships with discerning homeowners, builders, and architects who demand the best in quality and design. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage and showcase the appropriate Marvin products, Signature Installation Services, and our proven process.


The position will report directly to the Brand Experience Manager.


Position Summary:

As the New Construction Sales Consultant at Signature Windows + Doors, you will be fully accountable for closing at least $1.4 million of new construction sales annually, with an on-target goal of $2.5 million. Success in this role demands building and maintaining relationships with general contractors, builders, and architects specializing in custom single-family residential projects following traditional construction techniques for high-net-worth individuals. This position has the additional requirement of being geared towards high-touch, high-empathy service to the homeowners of these projects.

Responsibilities + Deliverables:

Product and Company Expertise:

  • Become a Marvin product expert through dedicated learning.
  • Understand the company's history and the Signature Difference.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our target market for efficient lead qualification.
  • Establish a comprehensive understanding of the competition, positioning Marvin effectively using facts and technical data.

Electronic Communication + Computer Proficiency:

  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills in professional emails to clients and coworkers.
  • Craft clear, concise messages that effectively convey information, answer queries, and address customer concerns.
  • Monitor and manage email correspondence promptly, ensuring timely responses and follow-ups in alignment with established service levels.
  • Learn and proficiently navigate Marvin’s Order Management System (OMS) quoting tool.
  • Master the Installation Workbook to create accurate installation quotes.
  • Demonstrate expertise in using Google Suite applications such as Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
  • Collaborate with team members in real-time through Google Drive for seamless information sharing.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues independently and escalate as necessary.
  • Utilize (soon to be released) CRM system to maintain accurate and up-to-date client information.
  • Record interactions, track leads, and manage sales activities within the CRM system.
  • Leverage CRM data for strategic decision-making and effective client management.

Business Development:

  • Research and target potential customers and projects, utilizing methods such as cold calls, attendance and industry events, and strategic introductions.
  • Proactively build relationships with general contractors, builders, and architects.
  • Recognize the significance of architects in shaping the project decisions and actively target influential professionals within the architectural community.
  • Collaborate with architects to understand their design intent and project requirements, aligning our offerings with their creative vision.
  • Prioritize and pursue high-potential leads, aiming for sustained growth and repeat high-value customers.

Client Engagement:

  • Contact new leads provided by the company within 1 business day.
  • Understand the Selling Situation

WHO: Who are the people that will have an impact on the window and door decision?

WHAT: What do they need, and what issue are they trying to solve? What product is the best solution for them and the company?

WHEN: What is the timeline of their project?

WHERE: Where is their home located? Home value? Neighborhood? Code and performance requirements based on their location.

WHY: Why is Signature Windows + Doors and Marvin the best answer for their project? Why are you the best person to help guide them through the process? Why are we better than their alternative options?

  • Learn, understand, and confidently communicate the operational facts regarding new construction projects and timelines.
  • Provide an elevated client experience through thorough consultations.
  • Execute the Signature Difference in customer interactions.
  • Have a clear objective for every interaction.
  • Set showroom appointments for in-depth discussions on project details.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs from plan sets with ability to perform take-offs from digital plan sets.
  • Code knowledge executed through proposals and take-offs.
  • Prepare accurate quotes and proposals based on client discussions and architectural plans.
  • Provide a comprehensive quote to the customer within 10 business days of receiving plan set.
  • In cases where customizations or additional time is required, the sales consultant will promptly communicate the need for additional time to the customer and provide reasonable estimated timeline for delivery of the quote.
  • Utilize sales resources through Marvin Online Docs, Architectural Detail Manuals, Competitors Websites, and Sales Meeting information.

Sales Closing and Management:

  • Use effective sales techniques to secure client commitments and convert leads into satisfied clients.
  • Submit accurate, complete, and required documentation to the Operations Team.
  • Managed and effective documentation.
  • Own the sale. Stay engaged with the sale from start to finish, providing support and answers to customers and the operations team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and desire to understand technical products.
  • 3-5 years of proven sales experience with a structured sales process.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Highly detailed mindset for understanding complex solutions.
  • Comfort in navigating challenging client situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective collaboration.
  • Aptitude for working with technology, including Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Proficient in file management and cloud-based storage.
  • Proper written communication: ability to write effective, professional emails.
  • Developed touch typing skills.
  • Ability to modify and markup PDF documents.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to deadlines.

COMPENSATION:

Base salary of $95,000 per year. On Target Bonus potential in year one. The base salary and the make-up and amount of the on-target bonus potential will be evaluated and set annually. 120 hours PTO for years 0-7. 160 hours PTO for years 8+. 48 hours CO sick time. Major medical, dental, vision plans available with employer contribution to major medical. SIMPLE plan
