SUMMARY

Performs the physical and administrative tasks of the Shipping Specialist as required for the receiving, shipping, storing, distributing of materials, parts, and equipment at Corden Pharma Colorado sites.

In addition, performs the Specialist duties related to shipping activities for Corden Pharma Colorado sites according to current DOT, IATA, and GHS regulations.

Follows SOPs and established departmental policies and procedures. Drives powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials. Incumbent is responsible for moving raw materials, intermediates, finished products, inventory transactions; and coordinates the delivery of material to the production areas/laboratories as required. Supports the general infrastructure of the plant-site and performs general warehouse activities, including the removal of waste by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Complies with all departmental and company procedures and local, state and federal regulations with respect to Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health and Safety policies
  • Responsible for safe working practices, routine warehouse maintenance/housekeeping; and assuring the warehouse activity complies with all required safety, environmental, and GMP regulations
  • Responsible for receiving, handling, and delivering of all essential raw materials to and from Manufacturing as required
  • Verify quantity and quality of stock received from suppliers
  • Coordinates warehouse dock, unloading and loading trucks, MRs, and Incident Reporting as needed. Informs Purchasing of damaged goods, late deliveries, and missing backordered items
  • Drives forklift and controls movement of lifting apparatus in deliveries of raw materials and analytical solvents to Production and laboratories. Responsible for fork truck maintenance activities
  • Performs accurate electronic/paper data entry for the movement, reconciliation, receipt, shipping, and labeling of materials. Responsible for accurate inventory transaction in SAP
  • Maintains inventory control including proper storage of chemicals and manufacturing materials for safety and shelf life; ensuring that appropriate paperwork is properly completed and filed
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags and labels
  • Unloading and loading of tankers and solvents as needed
  • Responsible for properly managing the generation and accumulation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Assists with the physical inventory counts on a periodic basis, as required by procedure. Performs accurate cycle counting. Maintains paper and electronic records of received goods and brings to the attention of supervisor/manager unsatisfactory items
  • Responsible for all shipping activities. Responsible for profiling and labeling shipments of goods according to current DOT, IATA, and GHS regulations. Fulfills the role of the plant site Transportation Code Manager, and the Transportation Security Advisor
  • Maintains current DOT and IATA Certifications
  • Responsible for generation and maintenance of Shipping Checklist for CPC products
  • Responsible for generation of all documents required to book a CPC product shipment for transport, domestically or internationally
  • Responsible for generation and distribution of all customer and regulation required documentation, meeting the requirements of DOT, CFR49, and IATA Dangerous Goods by Air Regulations
  • Responsible for generation of CPC Sales documents to include Delivery Notes, Invoices, and Packing List
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining of the CPC Weekly Shipping Schedule
  • Fulfills the role of the plant site Transportation Code Manager and the Transportation Security Advisor. Delivers DOT General Awareness and hazmat training as required
  • Additionally, as part of the Materials Team this position serves as a backup to other positions and is responsible for other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

REASONING ABILITY

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver’s License. Certified in driving a forklift, handling pallet jacks, and other similar equipment. Must be DOT/IATA certified.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
