Job Responsibilities

  • This position will include, but is not limited to, the completion of SHPO file reviews, GIS, archaeological surveys/monitoring, site recording and documentation, archival research, and cultural resource report/desktop writing/production.
  • Work independent of, as well as cooperatively with Principal Investigator in preparation of GPS unit set-up and operation, field maps, and field forms; crew member scheduling and crew member assignments; acquisition and scheduling of field vehicles.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in anthropology, archaeology or closely related field is required.
  • SOI qualified.
  • 3 years minimum documented field experience in CRM, plus 2 years documented increasing supervisory and project-related management experience preferred.
  • Firm understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory compliance requirements, including working with Section 106 of the NRHP and the Antiquities Code of Texas. Regional experience specific to Louisiana and Texas with knowledge of CTA and LDA requirements preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and in a team environment, in addition to taking direction from project supervisors.
  • Ability to travel and conduct daily fieldwork for extended periods.
  • Ability to work through rugged terrain and shovel test at prescribed intervals up to 10-miles a day while carrying appropriate field equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a drug screen upon employment.
