Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and friendly Nursery Attendant/Cashier to join our team at the Gazebo. This role involves assisting customers with their gardening needs, maintaining nursery plants, and handling cashier duties. Key Responsibilities:Nursery Attendant Duties:
  • Customer Assistance: Greet customers, answer questions, and provide guidance on plant selection, care, and gardening products.
  • Plant Care: Water, prune, and maintain nursery plants to ensure they are healthy and visually appealing.
  • Product Display: Arrange and restock plants and gardening supplies in an organized and attractive manner.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and perform inventory counts as needed.
  • Education: Educate customers on plant care techniques, pest control, and other gardening topics.
Cashier Duties:
  • Customer Service: Provide a welcoming experience for customers at the checkout counter.
  • Transactions: Accurately process sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit card payments, and issuing receipts.
  • Assistance: Help customers with their purchases, including boxing items and providing carry-out service when needed.
  • Returns and Exchanges: Process returns and exchanges efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the checkout area clean and organized, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service Skills: Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Gardening Knowledge: Basic understanding of plants, plant care, and gardening products.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain organized and visually appealing displays.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Previous Experience: Experience in retail, cashiering, or nursery/garden center work is a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
