Summary: Under basic supervision, performs office support and clerical duties for the assigned work group.
Essential Functions: -- Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs general clerical and office support duties; makes and distributes copies; processes mail, documents, and other materials; duties may vary according to job assignment.
- Acts as cashier support personnel by processing mail payments and working a cashier window station.
- Performs Administrative Assistant duties in his/her absence.
- Enters data into City computer systems; maintains electronic and paper files and records.
- Assists City staff and the general public, and answers inquiries about City services, programs and records; greets and receives visitors and customers; explains rules, policies, and procedures; provides information within the scope of authority.
- Supports the departmental operations with regular and timely attendance.
- Supports the relationship between the City of Odessa and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information; performs other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines: A High School Diploma or GED is required. Two years of clerical and computer experience preferred.
Knowledge of:
- Principles and methods of customer service and records management.
- Business computers and standard MS Office software applications.
Skill in:
- Dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Entering data with high levels of accuracy and productivity.
- Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
License and certification requirements: None
Physical demands and working environment: Work is performed in a standard office environment.
