Bollinger Motors is seeking a Quality Technician to support the activities of the Quality Department and ensure compliance to all customer and regulatory requirements through the Quality Management System (QMS). The technician will also be responsible for creating quality reports from measurements utilizing a FARO arm and other quality inspection tools and equipment. This position reports to the Quality Director. This is an in-person role at the company’s contract manufacturer in Livonia, MI.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide shop floor technical support and act as a technical resource for drawing and specification interpretation as well as questions related to manufacturing
  • Create, maintain, and/or revise specialized quality documentation (e.g., procedures, work instructions, etc.)
  • Participate in internal audits to verify conformance of activities to quality assurance standards.
  • Prepare and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
  • Assist in the disposition of nonconforming product and the development of rework within internal systems
  • Assist with the Corrective and Preventive Action process at Bollinger Motors, including leading effective Root Cause & Corrective Action investigations
  • Assist in identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities
  • Assist with Process Failures Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) events
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer specifications, industry standards, and quality systems standards
  • Assist with Supplier Quality initiatives as applicable
  • Assist with all aspects of gage management and calibration, including selection of proper gaging and equipment
  • Provide inspection support for suppliers, internal and external customers
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree - Preferred
  • Solid understanding of test equipment, GD&T, fixturing, and inspection techniques
  • Ability to read prints
  • Understanding of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) wiring and components
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of inspection and/or production experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
  • CMM / FARO arm programming and use
  • Local travel
