The Paralegal is an integral part of our team and responsible for a variety of tasks to support our attorneys. This includes maintaining and organizing files, and preparing and filing documents.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Attorney Support

  • Manages calendar and court deadlines.
  • E-files with courts and agencies.
  • Assists with preparation of court filings
  • Updates the internal case management system (CaseAware) and completes assigned steps
  • Utilizes and updates client portals as needed, to reflect all client activities and filings.

Calendars and Deadlines

  • Ensures proper calendaring of appearances, hearings, mediations, sales and other important events.
  • Ensures deadlines are met.
  • Prepares attorney document reviews.
  • Schedules and coordinates hearings, mediations, depositions, etc.
  • Follows up on unfulfilled requests.
  • Ensures timely follow up with clients, opposing counsel and third parties.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college or certification preferred.
  • 1 -3 years’ experience with default servicing actions preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to delegate as appropriate.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain positive internal working relationships with office staff.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and appropriately with attorneys, staff and clients.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have strong computer skills; Word, Excel and Outlook as well as general understanding of software systems to access and utilize client systems.
  • Must be punctual, reliable.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is usually in an indoor office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
