ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Safely operate ammunition loading and priming equipment in accordance with associated job instructions, while maintaining defined part quality and equipment performance.
  • Perform necessary adjustments of feeding equipment and mechanical components of the equipment operated.
  • Perform the in-process quality checks for conformance to specifications.
  • Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs to loading equipment and facility.
  • Retrieve necessary components and stage them at the appropriate loading stations.
  • Ability to focus and maintain attention to detail for an extended period of time in an unaccompanied work environment.
  • Uses precision digital and analog measuring instruments (caliper, scale, micrometer, plug gauges, bore micrometer, dial indicator height gauge, etc.) to ensure that parts meet customer specifications. The Loading Technician uses the instruments to measure dimensions to tolerances.
  • Maintain cleanliness in and around work area. Involves cleaning scrap from inside and outside of machines. In addition, whenever visible signs of debris, any slippery conditions or substances are present, the area must be mopped clean or swept, and an attempt made to make the working space as clean and organized as possible.
  • Perform minor and limited preventive maintenance such as lubrication and auditing for loose parts and visible defects in equipment.
  • May require the safe & effective use of forklift to transport material (raw stock, scrap, and finished parts) when necessary. Frequently involves the safe operation of a forklift and may require maneuvering a loaded truck in confined and pedestrian traffic areas.
  • Record production and quality information on designated AMMO operating systems, in accordance with AMMO operating procedures. Involves an understanding of the purpose and necessity for accurate record keeping.
  • Perform area checklist(s) pre-shift and post-shift to ensure the equipment is ready for operation and post shift to ensure the equipment is in good working order for the following shift to operate.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor for additional experience and/or training or refinement skills or in preparation for advancement.
  • Occupation includes a requirement to attend and participate in team meetings and training programs.
  • Participates in AMMO's Continual Improvement Process.
  • Occupation includes a requirement to follow EHS procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Skills and Experience:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Math, problem solving, mechanical and reading abilities required.
  • Industrial experience desired.
  • Skilled in performing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Ability to influence change & lead those who oppose change.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and make calculations.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable production environment.
  • Oil, coolant and noise (90db) present. Hearing protection is required.
  • Technician is subject to lifting up to 50 lbs.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must follow all safety rules and exhibit safe work practices. Must complete and pass all required safety training and testing. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
