We are looking for a Managing Director to join our team and be at the helm of our dynamic and fast-growing Data and Analytics Team (BI and Data Engineering). As a hands-on leader, you'll spearhead a team of talented data engineers, analytics engineers, and visualization specialists. Reporting directly to our Head of Technical Capabilities, you'll leverage your technical prowess and authentic leadership style to drive Lovelytics toward its growth targets.

Role Location: Open to remote candidates in the US in the following states:  MD, DC, CA, IL, IA, IN, MA, NC, TX, TN, GA, CO, NY, NJ, VA, FL, PA, OR with preference for candidates in EST. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical expertise to design and implement analytics solutions across all verticals.
  • Lead a team of roughly 50+ consultants and senior managers within the practice to ensure productivity, employee satisfaction, and professional growth.
  • Work hand-in-hand with other Managing Directors and the Head of Capabilities to align the technical development of IP and other offerings, with what can be sold in the market. 
  • Manage the utilization and revenue of this capability area, extending and expanding opportunities inside of existing accounts, and managing initiatives related to product and solution development. 
  • “Sharpen the saw” by continuing to build your knowledge of modern analytics technologies, using your expertise to provide thought leadership and best practices to the team and overall organization.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to our clients, understanding their unique challenges, goals, and opportunities related to Data Engineering & BI.
  • Develop and maintain accountability of best practices and operational excellence amongst the Data and Analytics practice.
  • Act as the leader and escalation point for clients and stakeholders across the team and a portfolio of engagements.
  • Be responsible for identifying hiring needs, managing P&L, and the overall data and analytics practice.
  • Have a deep focus on the growth and career development of the team by understanding expectations, staying abreast of the team's performance, and aligning team members with new opportunities.
  • Work with agility and wear many hats in a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment.

Our Ideal Candidate's Skills and Experiences:

  • 10+ years of client-facing experience, with a focus on hands-on data and analytics solutions a must.
  • 5+ years of leadership in a consulting organization, adept at growing, scaling and leading diverse teams with empathy and rigor.
  • Proven track record in managing team KPIs: Utilization, Revenue, and Gross Margin.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data management, governance, BI, and Data engineering frameworks for business applications.
  • Dedicated to people leadership, career development, and coaching
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of overseeing highly strategic projects.
  • Exceptional business acumen, communication, and presentation skills with direct experience engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with Databricks or similar technologies (you'll need to be able to talk the talk)
