WHAT YOU'LL DO

As part of the Quality Assurance Department, theComposite Fabrication Inspector (Afternoon Shift)will perform in-process and final inspections during the layup of prepreg composites. The Inspector will use tools such as scales, tape measures, angle gauges, and more to verify compliance with Engineering. Other expectations may include:

  • Initiate first article inspections for all parts requiring conformity
  • Accurately locate partial plies, core, and pre-consolidated pads using calibrated tools
  • Verify final bags using vacuum gauges and flow meters
  • Maintain and verify calibration of vacuum gauges and other quality tools
  • Report drawing changes
  • Communicate discrepancies with Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Other duties as assigned or required

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • At least 1-year of experience performing layup of composite parts using prepreg is helpful but not required
  • Prior experience as a Quality Inspector is preferred
  • Manufacturing and/or Aviation experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, engineering documentation, and have a basic understanding of GD&T
  • Experience using visual and mechanical inspection tools such as scales, gauges & calipers
  • A good understanding ofthe layup process and the importance of following procedures
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements
  • Able to work well independently or in a team
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
