Job Summary:

The Penske Box Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the box shop, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes managing staff, maintaining a safe working environment, and performing diagnostic procedures and repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and motivate staff to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
- Oversee the completion of tasks, including cab/sheet metal repair, composite bonding/repair, and heating/air conditioning systems
- Perform diagnostic procedures and repairs, including suspension repair/alignment, electrical/brake/cooling system, and welding/fabricating
- Coordinate daily work duties and communicate with internal and external customers

Requirements:

- At least 3 years of box shop management experience
- At least 3 years of practical box shop experience
- Estimator certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Vocational/technical school preferred
- Specialized training and experience in the repair/refinish of all series of truck and trailer
- Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade, including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools
- Valid driver's license required
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to use hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or operate required tools or controls
- Ability to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to see and hear to safely navigate the work environment
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100lbs/45kg
