Accupac is hiring for a FULL-TIME 3rd Shift Operator Technician to join our Lakewood, NJ location.

Basic Job Functions:
Performs all operational activities on a selected packaging line. Will also be responsible for training to clear equipment jams, replenish materials on operating equipment and conduct mechanical change overs and set ups. Other maintenance tasks include ensurance that continuous flow and smooth operational conditions exist on the line. Is knowledgeable on each piece of equipment on the production line and that the correct set up for interaction and connection between them for maximum efficiency. The ability to communicate with the Supervisor and mechanical staff is essential.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Operate all equipment on line
  • Replenish roll stock (Labels, Bundle film, etc)
  • Conduct critical product inspections (Fills, label placement, coding)
  • Assist in trouble shooting and training
  • Set up full line configurations of multiple pieces of equipment, independently
  • Consume and adjust inventory as needed.
  • Communicate with Team Leaders and Packaging Mechanics status of line
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements of the Job:
  • Substantial experience working with packaging equipment
  • Ability to understand when there is a quality control issue and what to do when risk exists
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with co-workers
  • Ability to provide clear instructions
  • Ability to understand Standard Operating Procedures and communicate their requirements to others
  • Ability to judge when equipment has been sanitized and correctly set up
  • Complete knowledge of tools and basic machinery operation
  • Ability to work around solvents and chemicals needed for sanitization tasks
  • Ability to comprehend Equipment Set Up Sheets

Physical Requirements:
  • Strength sufficient to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for full shift period
  • Ability to hear speech and/or alarms through plant noise
  • Possess peripheral vision
  • Eyesight with or without corrective lenses, able to discern different characters of small type for coder set ups
  • Must be able to recognize colors and shades of color
  • Physical mobility to reach overhead, at shoulder and waist level and below waist
  • Must have manual dexterity to unfasten and fasten large and small parts together using hand tools
  • Must not be allergic to chemicals and solvents used for sanitizations
  • Ability to work Over Time or extended shifts as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

Travel: None

Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Prefer previous experience working in a packaging environment and specific knowledge of existing equipment and/or its manufacture.
