Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Centura Health. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgical teams during operative procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile equipment and supplies, and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
  • Prepare and move patients, sterilize and clean instruments, equipment, and rooms, and set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, and medications.
  • Use physician preference cards to identify supplies and equipment needed for procedures, and prepare solutions and medications used during procedures.
  • Provide supplies or equipment upon request for surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, and assist with draping sterile fields and maintaining highest standards of sterile technique.
  • Perform counts with circulators prior to operations, before incisions are closed, and as needed, and deliver surgical specimens and cultures from operative fields to circulating nurses.
  • Review and replace supplies in surgical cases following procedures, and discard expired medications per protocol.
  • Assist with terminal cleaning of operating rooms and put equipment, supplies, and instruments away as required, and assist in prepping rooms for the next patient.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in a specialty field preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
Additional Information

Floating may be required to any Centura location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or Centura-identified 'float zone.' Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements (including skill set) in accordance with Centura policy.
