Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator is responsible for analyzing blueprints to determine the costs of materials, equipment and sub-contract needs of various projects. Estimators need to be involved to help provide solutions to increase profitability and prepare project bids. This is an opportunity for a long-term position and to join a growing company.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a workload that has been provided by the Chief Estimator
  • Work the necessary hours to maintain his/her bid schedule
  • Provide accurate take offs of projects based on knowledge and the National Electric Code
  • Prepares cost estimates for budgets, design concepts and engineered as requested
  • Helps track market prices for commodities and equipment to ensure bids are covered correctly
  • Maintain a good customer relationship with each General Contractor, Vendor and Subcontractor we bid projects and or we ask to bid projects for the company
  • Assist Project Managers in navigating estimates for their projects
  • Turn over new projects to Chief Estimator & the Pre-construction Manager and go through scopes, quotes, and sub-contractor quotes
  • The Estimator reports to the Chief Estimator

Requirements and Skills

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good organizational skills
  • Minimum of 5-8 years electrical field experience as an electrician in commercial construction or service.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of electrical estimating.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Licensed journeyman with estimating experience (preferred)
