Position Purpose:

The Loan Operations Specialist will support the Loan Operation teams that include Loan Processing, Collateral Management, and Loan Servicing. This position will be assisting within the Loan Operations department performing various functions to support the continued growth and activity within the department.



Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Complete new loan edits and loan maintenance within timelines established in department procedures.
  • Process loan payments to Jack Henry Silverlake system according to department procedures.
  • Loan document imaging and inbound mail processing.
  • Assist with additional loan operation roles, as requested or necessary
  • Comply with all FDIC regulations and other banking standards
  • Assist with central indexing for the commercial and consumer lending channels.
  • Escalate to direct supervisor any problems or issues for resolution.
  • Understanding of the end-to-end lending process
  • Learn and understand commercial & consumer loan documentation.
  • Ability to interpret Credit Policy and apply to functions assigned
  • Understanding of loan closing process, including the accounting for fees and closing costs
  • Lending compliance knowledge
  • Embraces continuous improvement and can be a change agent
  • All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.


Requirements:

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 1-3 years of related loan processing experience and/or training for all types of loans – SBA, Participations, Lines of Credits, Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial (C & I), Construction, and various Consumer loan types.
  • Work related experience should consist of Clerical, Bookkeeping or Accounting, or Business.
  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Solid working knowledge of banking industry practices relative to bank loan operations with respect to loan products, services, and terminology.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced office environment.
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal lending and compliance laws and regulations, and other Bank lending policies.
  • Highly accurate data entry skills and strong level of skill working with a variety of PC and internet applications, including Excel, Word and key industry specific Internet sites.
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management, thoroughness, and accuracy skills required.
  • Solid communication and organizational skills with focus on teamwork and cooperation.
  • A high level of confidentiality required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting and standing throughout the day.
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
  • Work involves lifting and moving loan files of up to 20 pounds.
