We are currently hiring a full-time Environmental Field Technician based in our Waukesha office. This role offers a unique blend of environmental science and construction review responsibilities, making it perfect for those passionate about both fields, with no prior construction experience required.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Environmental Field Technician Duties:

  • Conduct regular field inspections to evaluate erosion control effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Identify and document any non-compliance issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records, including photographs and compliance statuses.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings and detailing corrective measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and address issues promptly.

 

Construction Review Technician Duties:

  • Review the construction progress of municipal infrastructure projects to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Utilize electronic reporting software to compile accurate daily reports and record drawings.
  • Serve as a liaison, providing project information and addressing inquiries from contractors, project managers, municipal officials and other project stakeholders.
  • Offer solutions to construction-related queries or escalate issues for resolution as needed.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, biology, ecology, botany, natural resources, or related field (degree preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with erosion control and environmental compliance regulations (preferred but not required).
  • Strong initiative, a positive attitude, and thorough attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and assist with on-site coordination.
  • Proficiency in using equipment to measure, estimate, and verify project specifications.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various projects and travel to different locations as required.
  • Eagerness to expand industry knowledge and a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance.
