Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSMS Staffing Inc is Hiring Immediately for a skilled Senior Paralegal Job Title: Senior ParalegalJob Location: Sant Clara, CA, U.S.A. 95054Job Type: Contract (possible extension or convert to hire)Pay: Starts at $32.50 an hourShift Structure: ONSITE, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per weekThe role of the Senior Paralegal: Provides legal services and resolves legal matters for assigned responsibilities or clients. Supports the business in the achievement of business objectives by communicating advice of the Legal Department and managing legal risks to the corporation.
  • Collaborating with internal clients to prepare a variety of commercial agreements, including professional services agreements, consignment agreements, and confidentiality disclosure agreements.
  • Offering legal support to achieve business objectives and effectively resolve assigned matters.
  • Identifying and addressing moderately complex legal issues, proposing practical solutions to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Conducting substantive legal work, including analysis, drafting, negotiating, and consulting.
  • Resolving routine and moderately complex legal matters with minimal supervision, while assisting more experienced colleagues on projects spanning multiple functional areas.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the company’s businesses and staying updated on relevant changes in laws affecting our operations.
  • Serving as a representative of the Legal Division internally, maintaining agreements in document management systems, and supporting the preparation of legal presentations on various topics.
  • Provide guidance and direction to assigned support staff, including junior paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Serve as a role model within the team and assist in the recruitment and selection process for new staff membKeep legal department managers informed of critical project developments in a timely manner.
  • Execute your core responsibilities efficiently, with matters typically having a significant impact on business activities and operations
About the Senior Paralegal:The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and / or ABA approved Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have familiarity with basic laws related to applicable areas of responsibility
  • Experience reviewing agreements/contracts and the ability to interpret and synthesize information from various sources to achieve superior outcomes
  • Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented with high work standards
  • High level of discretion, maturity and ethical integrity
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, proofreading and organizational skills, with a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Ability to multitask, work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, proactively thinking through challenges and coming up with pragmatic workable solutions
