Job Overview

Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock, and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and/or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse.  

 

Here are the specifics:

  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise 
  • Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in the delivery area 
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to organizational standards 
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers 
  • Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, and recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory 
  • Prepare parcels for mailing 
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; Sweep, dust, and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times 
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers  
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations 
  • Constantly work to improve processes; make suggestions for productivity improvements, and optimize employee workflow, while continuing to meet our customers’ needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

  • Frequent pinching, grasping, fine manipulation with fingers. 
  • Constant walking and standing. 
  • Rare reaching overhead. 
  • Frequent bending/reaching, twisting.  Rare kneeling and squatting. 
  • Ability to occasionally lift 30 lbs., rarely lift < 50 pounds, occasionally carry
