Community Outreach Coordinator

Job Summary: This position involves connecting individuals with disabilities into their community. The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing programs opportunities and initiatives to enhance community integration and support. This role involves collaborating with community members, organizations, and local businesses to promote and advance the mission and goals of Cardinal Services.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership, vision and inspiration toward the achievement of the mission and values. Coordination of activities for comprehensive community awareness of day program services offered. Evaluate the effectiveness of services and make recommendations for improvement. Investigate demand for services in catchment area. Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and persons served. Establish new programs and services as needed (research, planning, coordination, and implementation). Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Participate in events and activities that promote the mission and services of the agency, opening doors of opportunity for customers. Establish relationships with community businesses, clubs, civic groups and/or organizations. Perform other duties within the purview of the position as assigned by supervisor.

Position Specific Responsibilities: Develop day program opportunities for new services including, but not limited to: Community Integrated Inclusion, Volunteer, Workforce Readiness, Behavior Consulting, Music Therapy, Recreational Therapy, Club Room Instructors, Enclaves, and other applicable services. Work closely with department heads and intake specialist to fulfill community needs. Enhance program opportunities for current services. Work with department heads on how to expand funding and services. Develop, implement and assure completion of strategic goals. Develop, implement and strive for successful completion of balanced scorecard. Meet Community Integration Coordinator metrics. Ensure understanding of CMS Settings rule, LifeCourse Framework, and other initiatives that promote inclusiveness, integration, and growth. Assure satisfaction of community partnerships. Advocate for and/or support the customer, families and/or guardian, as appropriate. Plan, coordinate, and accomplish community awareness of the services offered. Evaluate program operations, identify opportunities for improvement and successfully implement changes. Participate in state and trade association work groups to effect positive change. Shall perform other duties as prescribed by supervisor.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation, social work, special education, psychology, education, business, public relations or closely related field preferred. Business acumen in, but not limited to, fiscal functions, project management and data analysis. Experience in the field and knowledge of the community are preferred.
