Job Description:

The AP Specialist (Accounts Payable) Under Financing Supervisor, The AR Specialist position responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization and assisting outside entities with tax and audit related matters.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age and have obtained a high school diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. (Preferred)
• Minimum of 1-Year of working in a manufacturing setting.
• The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable.
• SAP or other ERP system experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and process invoices for accuracy, adequate authorization and approvals in terms of budget coding, general ledger coding and cost center coding.
• Generate A/P Aging report and reconcile the A/P Subsidiary ledger to general ledgers,
• Manage relationship with vendors by reconciling the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Prepare annual filing of 1099 forms
• Keep detailed records of all transactions, including vendor payments and purchase orders
• Understands compliance issues and verify the accounts subject to state sales & use taxes.
• Make timely payments to vendors and avoid late fees or overdraft fees. Be vigilant in cybersecurity.

Physical Requirement

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
