The Project Surveyor position earns a competitive salary, depending on experience. On any given day you'll:

  • Work with a Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) assisting in the survey work on boundary, transportation, municipal, and civil engineering projects
  • Perform scanning projects utilizing RIEGL terrestrial laser scanners
  • Perform bathymetric surveys utilizing remote control boats
  • Perform topographic and land surveys using Trimble Robotic Total Stations, R12i GPS, and TSC7 Data Collectors
  • Perform physical tasks such as setting monuments, clearing line, etc.
  • Operate as a one-man crew
  • Understand and utilize Civil 3D and create 3D surface files and plats

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4 year degree preferably in surveying
  • 0-5 years of related survey experience
  • Valid driver's license and solid driving record

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Ability to become a Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) in 5 years
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Civil 3D and/or MicroStation skills

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Ability to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, and walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Consistent hand, finger, and arm use
  • Consistent computer screen exposure
  • Prolonged reading
