Job Description:

  • Responsible for ocean and air freight pricing procurement.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with shipping lines, airlines, and other service providers.
  • Process RFQ’s and other requests received from customers, sales executives, and overseas offices.
  • Communicate with agents and offices overseas to request origin and destination charges.
  • Communicate with operations and other departments to provide guidance on how to book and bill shipments based on quotations offered.
  • Develop back up plans to offer multiple options during high season to avoid shipping delays.
  • Collect, analyze, and report market intelligence.
  • Maintain metrics to measure performance of the pricing department.
  • Adheres to company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and acting when necessary.
Requirements:

Background Required:

  • International and domestic transportation experience (03 years)
  • Multimodal pricing experience (e.g., over the road, air, ocean)
  • Experience working with asset carriers directly or through vendor management.
  • RFQ management through proposals.
  • Analyze rate/routing options supporting sales.
  • Maintain pricing templates.
  • Familiarity with using BI (Business Intelligence) Systems.
  • Develop & manage KPIs (e.g., compliance, margin, audit).
  • Power user with MS Office software, particularly Excel and Access.

Background Preferred (but not required):

  • Vendor management
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
  • Education: College graduate

  • Ability to work well and excel under pressure and tight time frames
