Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPlant Layout DesignerContract role, $30 - $40 hr., depending on experienceBloomfield, CTWe are excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a Plant Layout Designer at our client's Bloomfield, CT facility. This role has opened due to the company's expansion.POSITION SUMMARYAs a Plant Layout Designer, you will develop and optimize plant layouts using AutoCAD software, collaborating with engineering and operations teams to improve workflow and space utilization while ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications include drafting training, plant layout design experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD.Requirements:
  • Measurements: Measure existing or plant facility to gather accurate dimensions, equipment specifications, and space constraints. Utilize measuring tools and equipment to capture detailed data.
  • AutoCAD Design: Develop and modify plant layouts using AutoCAD software, creating detailed drawings and schematics. Ensure adherence to engineering standards.
  • Layout Optimization: Analyze existing plant layouts to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Propose and implement layout improvements to optimize workflow, material flow, and space utilization.
  • Equipment and Space Planning: Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to determine equipment placement, sizing, and clearances. Develop space allocation plans to accommodate production processes and storage requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive layout documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Maintain accurate and up-to-date layout records.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines in all layout designs and implementations.
Qualifications:
  • Tech School training in drafting.
  • Proven experience in plant layout design and optimization.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Excellent measurement and data collection skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
