Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with the client, the MEP/FP/IT design team, and other consultants to ensure the design is consistent with the client’s vision, to identify and resolve areas of conflict, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls when deemed necessary.
  • Becoming familiar with the codes that are applicable to the project.
  • Using AutoCAD and other software to create plumbing construction document packages which include plumbing fixture connections, equipment connection, and associated piping, plumbing isometric riser diagrams, appropriate schedules, details, and construction specifications.
  • Performing all required calculations to support design decisions, including load calculations, pipe sizing calculations, and equipment sizing calculations.
  • Coordinating with local utility companies to provide the required utility services to the project.
  • Coordinating with equipment vendors and manufacturer’s representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment.
  • Provide construction administration (CA) services, including answering requests for information (RFIs).
  • Provide mentoring and guidance for colleagues.

What We Are Looking For:

  • In possession of an ABET-accredited degree in Architectural Engineering, Architectural Engineering Technology, or related educational program.
  • In possession of or desire to obtain Certified Plumbing Designer Certification.
  • Three or more years of plumbing design experience with an MEP/FP engineering consultant.
  • Experience managing projects and familiarity with related drawings, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing theory (system layout, sizing, flow characteristics, etc.).
  • One or more year(s) of AutoCAD and Revit experience.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills, including ability to prioritize tasks and multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving necessary direction and information.
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments with desire to work efficiently.
