Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots and repairs or coordinates repair of broken equipment. Determine root cause of problem, document action to prevent malfunction in the future.
- Installs, moves, repairs or removes equipment within the building.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance program on all equipment.
- Maintains inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Perform general building maintenance.
- Trains lead and set-up personnel on basic maintenance of machinery to control downtime.
- Contracts and supervises all outside contractors.
- Create procedure(s) for correct equipment use and repair.
- Report and correct any safety hazards.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- All other duties and responsibilities as required.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience
- B.S. or 2-year technical degree in related field, or 4 years of related experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintaining production machinery.
- Prior maintenance experience in a plastic molding company a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric controls including PLC's.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, manuals, gages, and other specifications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be safety conscience and a team player.
- Must have strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and ISO and ASME Codes. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with managers, vendors, customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move reports, files, office supplies, etc. weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Light to moderate physical activity.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Required to stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands.
