BIM Coordinator

General Purpose: This position is responsible for implementing software and interdisciplinary coordination to aid in the construction process and in project specific plans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implements BIM Technology to assist in the construction coordination process – receiving design team models and combining the models
- Performs early design review and constructability analysis
- Builds, reviews, and audits 3D models using layout sketches
- Leads ongoing coordination meetings with project managers, subcontractors and entire team including designers, architects, etc. Guiding the discussion and making recommendations. Point person to resolve main issues and concerns
- Manages and updates Building Information Modeling project documents, including shop drawings
- Conducts clash detection and resolution by using software to analyze constructible systems to enable them to be built without site issues
- Follows the coordination process through to sign-off on projects
- Ensures familiarity with detailing fabrication drawings
- Performs duties as Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager as needed regarding the design piece of the process
- Travels to and from jobsites as needed for QA/QC digital photo process and documentation
- Periodically assist Business Development and Marketing with Virtual Concepts for Presentations and RFPs
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management
- Assist with Submittal Review, Coordination, and Closeout Process as Needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: This position requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Prefer completed coursework in Construction, Mechanical or Architecture or an equivalent combination of training and or work experience.
BIM knowledge and experience with Construction Technology is required.
Language Skills: This position requires the ability to read, analyze and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, submittals and product data. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: This position requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: This position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certifications: None Required at point of hire, but will be required annually with employment position.
License: This position requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive from job site to job site.
Continuing Education: This position requires a minimum of hours of continuing education per year. This can be accomplished through a seminar, conference, training, etc.

Physical Demands: This position rarely requires, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. This position sometimes requires sitting, standing and walking. This position sometimes requires lifting up to 10 pounds.
Close vision is an important component of this job.
Work Environment: This position rarely requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, working with explosives, risk of radiation or vibration. This position sometimes requires working near moving mechanical parts work in high, precarious places when on the jobsite and working in outdoor weather conditions. The noise level is considered quiet to moderate (private office/business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Additional Information: This position requires high proficiency in the ability to utilize various software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and other 3D Modeling Software(s).
This position requires the use of the following software programs: Bluebeam, Primavera or Microsoft Project, On-Screen Takeoff, Viewpoint, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, E-Comm, Drop Box, Trimble Project Sight, and other similar construction software.
Travel: This position is an “in-office” position (not remote) but could require travel of up to 20% of the time.
