Guardians of Honor (GOH) is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). GOH is seeking an exceptional STEM engagement professional.


Job Objective: The Educational Technology Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing instructional technology and curriculum for STEM activities/projects. This role involves collaborating with NASA and subject matter experts to develop course materials, integrating technology such as gamification, coding, and robotics into lessons, and providing training on educational technologies. The specialist ensures high-quality content and engages students through innovative digital and social media tools.


Reports To: Project Manager / Deputy Program Manager


Background: Through an innovative partnership with the US Department of Education, NASA Glenn seeks to develop, execute, and evaluate a comprehensive model to support an innovative series of unique STEM opportunities in out-of-school time settings for K-12 grade audiences. The STEM opportunities project will connect students with the unique challenges faced by NASA scientists and engineers as they design the next generation of aeronautics and space vehicles, habitats, and technology. It is anticipated that over 100 afterschool programs will be engaged in this work during the 2024-2025 school year. In-person or virtual professional development offerings determined between NASA and participating states will be provided.


Essential Functions:

  • Monitor project timelines and task allocations - updating management tools with status for assigned activities in real time
  • Contribute to the daily management of project/activity execution, to include regular engagement and interactions with external NASA stakeholders
  • Coordinate and collaborate across team to assure that all work products content and functionality are of highest quality and informed with up-to-date information
  • Develop SOPs and QC procedures; and update to reflect efficiencies, best practices, and lessons learned
  • Contributes to client progress and status reports (i.e., monthly reports, weekly registration metrics, etc.)
  • Documents all expenses in ODC tracker
  • Assist with market research / literature reviews and present findings
  • Prepare and maintain project file folders with all completed work products, artifacts, and deliverables
  • Contribute to quality control process - to include peer review of work products and coordinating QC of deliverables
  • Document quality control of work products and deliverables prior to delivery to client and/or management
  • Stay up to date on necessary technology and processes and show initiative in capturing, documenting, and implementing best practices and lessons learned to improve quality and efficiency of services and solutions

  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support project objectives and respond to business demands.

  • Exhibits advanced proficiency in MS SharePoint, MS Office Suite, and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
  • Evaluates and incorporates state-of-the-art resources to enhance curriculum design and delivery.
  • Reviews and ensures proper formatting of all deliverables and products.
  • Evaluates and revises lesson materials to maintain engagement and educational effectiveness.
  • Assesses and organizes lesson content to ensure clarity and instructional quality.
  • Maintains comprehensive task lists and objective hierarchies to manage project progress and deliverables.
  • Contributes to project reports with metrics and implementation plans, working collaboratively with team members.
  • Facilitates informal STEM education experiences, leveraging classroom teaching experience and a solid STEM background.
  • Plans and executes STEM challenges and engages historically underrepresented groups with effective strategies.
  • Demonstrates high-level communication and writing skills to support content development and resources for educators, students, and stakeholders including NASA.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external organizations and stakeholders.
  • Delivers engaging content and professional development training both in-person and virtually.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in all aspects of work, including communication and client interaction.
  • Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team, contributing to a positive and proactive team culture.

Work Environment: The work environment is a typical office setting at NASA Glenn Research Center and partially a virtual/remote setting.


Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.


Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime is expected during peak periods.


Travel: 20% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary


Required education and experience: Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred) in instructional design, education technology, education, or similar field


Additional eligibility qualifications: A minimum of 5 years of industry-specific experience required
