BULL MOOSE TUBE COMPANY, a progressive organization in the manufacture of steel tubular products, is looking for an energetic, customer-focused MRO Purchasing, Manager who wants to become a key contributor in an industrial manufacturing environment. Bull Moose Tube is currently one of the largest and most profitable manufacturers of mechanical tubes, fire suppression sprinkler pipe, and hollow section structural steel tube. We currently generate approximately $0.6 Billion in revenue and operate from eight strategically located North American manufacturing sites with headquarters near St. Louis, Missouri. This MRO Purchasing Manager position is fully remote. Some travel required.

The MRO Purchasing Manager is responsible for creating an economical purchasing plan to support operations and lead the partnerships for right sizing inventory while ensuring a responsive strategy to support our goal of meeting operational and financial plans. Additional responsibilities include developing enterprise-wide purchasing strategies, improving efficiencies, and ensuring consistent methodologies to ensure alignment in process across all facilities.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  1. Develop/Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to create a transparent and competitively advantaged supply chain. Recommend actions to address challenges, actively seeking supply chain optimization opportunities and cost savings.
  2. Establishes purchasing policies, procedures and directs purchasing programs accordingly.
  3. Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost-effective manner.
  4. Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
  5. Keeps informed of economic, industrial and other trends that affect markets, prices and delivery conditions.
  6. Reviews and monitors requisitions, supply sources, supplies, quotations, terms, etc.
  7. Recommends major purchases of materials on the basis of anticipated changes in prices or on unusual availability situations.
  8. Reviews purchase orders and contracts for conformance with company policy.
  9. Participates in contract negotiations and vendor selection. Monitors performance and capabilities of vendors to ensure conformance of delivery, quality, and price commitments.
  10. Acts as a liaison in dealings between vendors and other departments when necessary.
  11. Assist plants in storeroom management.
  12. May perform duties of a buyer.
  13. Mentor and develop team members, managing work allocations, system training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic.

REQUIREMENTS:


  1. Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply critical thinking to dissimilar problems and deliver fact supported analysis, and the capability to quickly switch between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
  2. Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective inter-personal skills, and the ability to work with personnel at all organizational levels.
  3. Ability to promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork across the organization and possess the ability to work across multiple teams.
  4. Comfortable presenting to and working directly with senior management.
  5. Ability to work with continual process improvement methods.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. BS/BA in business, statistics, mathematics, economics, supply chain management or similar field required.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in supply chain or related field including 3+ years managing direct reports.
  3. Experience working with integrated ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel) applications required.
  4. Industry experience preferred.
