About the Position

The Parcel Manager is responsible for supporting the newly established Parcel Division, managing all aspects of parcel logistics operations. This role involves overseeing the entire brokerage process, including bidding, data analysis, carrier negotiations, and maintaining relationships with carriers and clients. This position will ensure efficient and cost-effective parcel delivery solutions while meeting the company's standards for service and profitability.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Bidding and Proposals:
    • Prepare and submit competitive bids for parcel delivery services.
    • Analyze market rates and trends to ensure competitive pricing.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and tailor bids accordingly.
  • Data Analysis:
    • Collect and analyze data on parcel delivery performance, costs, and other metrics.
    • Generate reports and insights to support decision-making and optimize operations.
    • Utilize data to identify opportunities for improvement in service and cost-efficiency.
  • Carrier Negotiations:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select parcel carriers based on performance, cost, and reliability.
    • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to secure favorable terms for the company.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the parcel division.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
    • Implement and manage processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parcels.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding parcel logistics.
    • Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to parcel delivery services.
    • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire, train, and supervise a team of logistics and support staff.
    • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
    • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations for team members.

  • 3+ Years of Parcel experience
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Strong Customer Service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must work Onsite
