The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for being the liaison between the Maintenance Manager and the

Maintenance team. A Maintenance Supervisor coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair work on

equipment, buildings, and grounds. The Maintenance Supervisor manages a team of workers, executes work

as necessary, maintains equipment, and assigns workers to various projects. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for interacting with and supporting plant personnel, enforcing all maintenance procedures, executing and maintaining all employee safety policies, manufacturing safety policies, and associated administrative policies.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

**- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.

  • Inspects sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenance.

  • Prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads.

  • Employ, supervise, and train workers.

  • Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activities.

  • Oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time.

  • Maintain all inventory and equipment and ensure proper storage.

  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and practices on site.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance work.

  • Conduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair work.

  • Conduct safety inspections as scheduled.

  • Establish strategies to meet workload demands on time.

  • Ability to work in a team environment, record data in a computer system, communicate with multiple departments, and complete work orders and preventative maintenance on equipment indoors and outdoors.

  • Participate in the safety programs and/or committees; follow all site safety policies, company policies and procedures work safely and wear appropriate PPE.

  • Effectively communicating and engaging with other functional groups at all levels from craft persons and operators to plant leadership.

  • Be an agent of change, demonstrating and encouraging positive behaviors.

  • Ensure that all operations are conducted with complete compliance to all Federal, State and local codes and environmental laws.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

**- High school diploma required, degree from a vocational school or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • At least five years of maintenance experience required.

  • Minimum three years experience as a Maintenance Supervisor preferred.

**GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

**- Good level of assertiveness to challenge and support the team.

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.

  • Demonstrated ability of budgeting and cost control.

  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically; Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines.

  • Must be able to identify and execute improvement opportunities through both process improvements and system improvements.

  • Travel may be required for training and to regularly conduct business with and meet with vendors/suppliers.

  • Must be a self-starter and have the desire and ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction.

  • Ability to be pragmatic in decision making; requires high integrity.

  • Ability to work with employees from many different cultures and backgrounds.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others, friendly and personable.

**SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

**- General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software.

  • PLC user or programming experience is a plus.

  • Experience with an electronic timekeeping system preferred.

  • Proficient keyboarding and typing skills.

differing conditions; works in a high-volume environment.

**HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

** First shift position; present to fulfill job duties & meet operational

demands/support; schedule may vary depending on plant operational needs thus flexibility is required which

could include long days, occasional evenings & weekends; regular and predictable attendance is an essential

function of this position; position may require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops or other facilities.
