Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSUMMARY:

The Yard Assistant / Etcher is responsible for mastering various etching techniques on architectural cast stone and panel projects for Stonecast Products. This role demands a high level of precision and skill to ensure that our architectural precast products meet the highest quality standards. Experience professionally spraying chemicals or spray painting preferred.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Equipment Inspection:

    • Inspect the Boom Lift machine daily for any issues, including hoses, leaks, and fluid levels. Ensure the fuel tank is full and report any abnormalities.
    • Conduct daily checks on pressure washers and report any issues.
    • Monitor supplies, including fuel, tape, spray tips, and coil cleaner, ensuring they are always stocked.

  • Tool Management:

    • Use tools appropriately, maintaining cleanliness and organization. Store all tools properly at the end of each shift.

  • Etching Process:

    • Review etching plans and samples with the Yard Manager before starting each job.
    • Perform etching to the required depth, matching project specifications and provided samples.
    • Report any blemishes, discolorations, or concerns to the Yard Manager before etching.
    • Ensure each piece is inspected by the Quality Control Manager/QC Technician after etching.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Maintain high-quality work that meets Stonecast standards without constant supervision.
    • Take initiative to improve quality and ensure adherence to project specifications.
    • Hold yourself and others accountable for maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Attendance & Punctuality:

    • Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, following all company procedures for time tracking and call-ins.
    • Set a strong example for others with your work ethic and punctuality.

  • Production & Pace:

    • Maintain a consistent pace, ensuring high productivity and accountability for your work.

  • Maintenance & Cleanliness:

    • Keep the etching area clean and free of debris at the end of each day.
    • Wash down the boom lift daily and clean the area around the etch machines and tool storage.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the Yard Manager.

  • Safety:

    • Apply all safety training to daily duties, wearing required PPE at all times.
    • Actively identify and report safety hazards, promoting a safe work environment for all.
    • Participate in all available safety training and take safety seriously.

  • Teamwork:

    • Work well with others, demonstrating a positive attitude and commitment to team goals.
    • Contribute to maintenance and cleaning tasks fairly and encourage a collaborative work environment.
