The Senior Manager of Amenities is key to creating lifelong members at The Front Climbing Club. They oversee the process of taking a first-time gym goer to a forever-crusher through impeccable quality Amenities programs. They provide professional development for our Amenities Instructors through process and operational controls and formalized performance improvement initiatives. The Senior Manager of Amenities will coach their instructors to be the best of the best, having their programs and attitudes help The Front Climbing Club be an industry leader
Primary and Essential Functions//
Administrative:
- Sets, oversees and manages KPI's for the Amenities department and reports on KPI's.
- Manages Azure board(s), scrums, retrospectives and weekly plans of action for Amenities Department
- Prepares agenda for bi-weekly meetings with Chief of Staff
- Recommends and oversees execution of improvement plans for Amenities department.
- Monitors feedback survey results and presents to Chief of Staff
- Manages and facilitates The Front's annual planning process for Amenities by coordinating, assisting, and executing the semester planning cycle with all Amenities program managers.
- Plans, coordinates, and executes once a trimester meeting for all Amenities staff, covering necessary company wide and amenity specific updates.
Program Management:
- Oversees all of Amenities Programs.
- Manages the JJ program, Group Fitness Program, and personal trainers.
- Streamline all the Amenities Programs processes.
- Supporting all Amenities healthy department tasks set by Operations.
- Coordinates with other managers when collaborating events or specific program offerings.
- Develops, implements, and supports all Amenities' policies and training programs.
- Hold Amenities staff to the Front's policies and expectations.
- Oversees programming equipment inventory and coordinates with Risk Manager to ensure inventory is inspected on a regular schedule.
- Oversees weight area and FTR equipment inventory and purchases for all Front locations. Coordinates with GMs, Front Desk, and Risk Manager to ensure regular equipment inspections and provide functional, up-to-date equipment for members.
- Create, maintain, and oversee SOPs for all Amenities Programs and ensure staff are trained to implement them effectively.
- Ensures all Amenities Programs are organized, well executed and provide a fun, effective and responsible environment for members.
- Manages Amenities program scheduling in RGP to ensure accurate reflection of programming calendar for Group Fitness and Jiu Jitsu.
- Ensures website is consistently up to date with changes to Amenities classes, schedules and offerings.
- Ensures WIKI customized training programs pages are up to date and staff are notified of any updates to these pages.
- Audits Amenities programs and staff for quality and consistency and compliance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Partners with Communications and Membership team to promote Amenities programming within the community.
- Conducts bi-weekly meetings with each location's GM/AGM to communicate amenities events and offerings, address staff concerns, and provide necessary support
- Works with other departments as necessary throughout The Front's annual planning process to achieve departmental and companywide KPI's
- Collaborates with the Events team to coordinate and execute themed workshops, events, and training for the Amenities Department
Talent Management:
- Responsible for employee life cycle of the Amenities staff including recruitment, feedback though review cycle and disciplinary actions, expand and explain DOT/Tier System of employees, and employee development. Specifically for Group Fitness, personal trainers, Jiu Jitsu and assisting with Yoga when necessary
Requirements//
- Minimum of five years of Group Fitness, Yoga, or Jiu Jitsu instruction experience preferred
- Preferred three years gym experience specifically with leading, managing and planning various fitness programs
- Preferred three years in a management position
- Ability to lead and instruct groups of people with different skills and abilities
- Comfortable with coaching children and able to obtain a Safe Sport Certificate
- Possesses a friendly and empathetic demeanor, providing encouragement to staff and members
- Excellent time management skills
- Solid knowledge of the use, care and operation of fitness equipment
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- A superior level of customer service
- Strong verbal communication skills
- First Aid/CPR Certified required
- Physical fitness is required in order to participate in classes and show participants proper exercise techniques
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
Job Hazards//
This position is exposed to airborne chalk, dust and cleaning supplies. And may be exposed to objects falling from great heights when safety monitoring or belay testing. Other hazards include falling while providing instruction or demonstration and trips and falls caused by obstacles on the ground such as ropes and climbing gear and slippery surfaces after they have been cleaned.
