Randall Mechanical is currently seeking a top-tier BIM Coordinator / Draftsperson for Sheet metal Ductwork to work in our Headquarters in Apopka, FL. We are excited about this important role and are determined to consider the best and brightest candidates who meet our requirements.


Position Summary


A BIM Coordinator coordinates and manages Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within a construction or design project. In this case, the role centers around Sheet metal Ductwork drawings. Their role involves overseeing digital processes associated with the design and construction stages. They also manage models and data and deliver real-time project updates to Operations Management.


Essential Functions


  • Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Work with the BIM Team and Operations to plan and create accurate, detailed drawings of Sheet metal Ductwork.
  • Work with and coordinate design changes and coordination challenges with other trades.
  • Review documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create fabrication spool sheets utilizing HVAC models.
  • Maintain project drawing files, drawing library and associated records and documents.
  • Catalog and archive files.
  • Work with project supervision to coordinate and maintain as–built documents to ensure drawings are accurate and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Interface with Randall Team (Project Foremen, Project Managers and Shop) to maintain clear communication and ensure proper flow of information and correspondence.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Effective English or Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) verbal and written communication skills are a must have
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to achieve quality objectives and project success.
  • Safety: Commitment to adhering to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

Desired Qualification Requirements

  • Candidate must have hands-on knowledge of developing Mechanical models for various commercial, educational buildings and theme parks, from either Revit MEP and/or AutoCAD Fabrication CadMEP.
  • Ability to setup and create drawing sheets from models consisting of plans, elevations, sections, as-built, shop drawings and details.
  • 2-3 years' experience with AutoCAD and Revit MEP
  • Knowledge of creating Revit MEP families and Fabrication CadMEP.


Physical Requirements

This is primarily an office position and, as such, you must be able to sit up to six or more hours in an eight-hour workday, lift light objects such as files and paperwork frequently during the day, and objects weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally during the day. You must also be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job.
