Curtze Food Service in Erie, PA, is seeking to hire a third-shift full-time Sanitation Technician. This position performs cleaning and sanitation in all areas of our USDA meat facility. The primary focus of the Sanitation Technician is the cutting room. In the cutting room, all saws must be removed, the room is cleared, and all equipment must be sprayed with the cleaner to sanitize and then pressure washed with water to rinse clean. Upon completion of the cutting room, other facility areas will need to be cleaned according to the daily assignment.

*** This position requires bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above, reaching across, using repetitive motion, heavy lifting, and the ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours daily. The Sanitation Technician will be exposed on a routine basis to adverse temperatures from cold 20-40&degree; F in damp/wet environment. In addition, this position requires exposure to sharp cutting tools. ***

Wage: $17 per hour

Shift: Sunday through Thursday 11:00 P.M. to 7:30 A.M. and Friday 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Responsibilities:

  • Conform to all relevant USDA standards as they apply to the position
  • Works in a cold, wet environment and dresses appropriately using good hygiene practices
  • Performs cleaning of the tools, equipment, walls, floor, and other areas as needed
  • Uses cleaning tools and chemicals related to cleaning and sanitation
  • Works with cleaning tools and chemicals related to cleaning and sanitation
  • Inspects the equipment and areas to identify any flaws and re-clean as necessary
  • Maintains related paperwork
  • Adhere to schedules
  • Follows directions from supervisors
  • Maintain order and cleanliness in the work area

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to handle sharp cutting tool
  • Ability to stand for more than 8 hours, withstand cold temperatures, and lift heavy
