As our Pricing Actuary, you will be at the intersection of traditional actuarial science and cutting-edge data science methods. You will fuel the company’s competitive edge by leading actuarial support in pricing sophistication, predictive analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Quantitative and Data Science Expertise – Exceptional command over numbers, statistics, data analytics, and data visualization.
  • Analytical reasoning and problem solving – Ability to navigate complex, ambiguous pricing challenges and devise data-backed, actionable solutions.
  • Communication – Clearly articulate complex topics to non-technical audiences in both written and oral form.

A typical day might include:

  • Building and maintaining advanced pricing models using machine learning techniques
  • Building dashboards or tools for other teams utilizing Tableau.
  • Monitoring top-line and bottom-line performance for necessary adjustments
  • Preparing peril-level rate indications. However, this role does not require interaction with rate filings.
  • Testing new or existing 3rd party data sources for predictive power. Integrating new data sources into pricing models.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of related actuarial and data science experience
  • ACAS or FCAS designation required
  • Proficiency in SQL required / Familiarity with Tableau or PowerBI is a plus
  • Experience in Python or R required
  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or related
  • Experience applying ML to business problems, including GLMs
  • Commercial Lines property experience a plus
  • Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus
