Christ Health Center is seeking a full-time Ultrasound Technician to join our medical imaging team. The Ultrasound Technician will operate ultrasound equipment to perform diagnostic procedures on patients, generating high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and physicians. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Major Duties & Responsibilities: Job Skills
- Conduct ultrasound examinations on patients by following established protocols and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Review patient medical history and any relevant information to assess the purpose of the ultrasound examination.
- Explain the procedure to patients, ensuring they understand and are comfortable with the process.
- Position patients correctly, considering their age, condition, and specific exam requirements, and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
- Apply gel or other appropriate agents to the patient's skin to facilitate sound wave transmission.
- Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, cardiac, and musculoskeletal, according to established protocols.
- Adjust ultrasound equipment settings, such as frequency, depth, and gain, to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
- Use Doppler techniques to assess blood flow and velocity when necessary.
- Capture multiple images from different angles and perspectives to create a comprehensive view of the area of interest.
- Ensure that images are of high quality, accurately representing the anatomy being examined.
- Recognize and troubleshoot technical issues with ultrasound equipment to maintain image integrity.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including images, reports, and any other pertinent information.
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to provide them with clear and comprehensive images for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Assist in the preliminary interpretation of ultrasound findings, if required, and communicate any important information to radiologists or physicians promptly
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of protective equipment and infection control practices.
- Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to an imaging system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history.
- Attends and participates in in-service education for staff, quality assurance program, and risk- management programs.
- Each employee of Christ Health Center is vital to providing overall quality care to our patients and may be included in the patient care team and daily huddle when deemed necessary by the Core Care Team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to assign priorities and coordinates the work to relieve bottlenecks and ensure an even flow of clinic services.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Requires effective interpersonal skills.
- Requires analytical skills, attention to detail, effective organization skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to self-direct with minimal supervision.
- Requires the ability to work in a multi-cultural setting (Bi-Lingual in Spanish is preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Qualification, Education & Experience
- Graduate of a formal Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) preferred.
- Current applicable licensure and or certification/registration necessary to perform diagnostic medical sonography.
- 2 years experience preferred.
- OB/GYN experience required.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment, strong knowledge of anatomy and pathology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
- Current CPR certification.

Physical/Mental Demands
- Work requires the ability to move and transport objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Work requires the ability to position self to move and good manual dexterity.
