We are looking for a Operations Resource to join our team You will develop technical mastery and become the operational subject matter expert and problem-solving champion for our manufacturing lines. You will drive production process improvements, assist with introduction of new products and support or lead capital improvement projects if necessary. As a Operations Resource in Alamance Foods, you will be the reason manufacturing line runs smoothly and efficiently to sustain and accelerate business improvement initiatives. If you dislike working repetitive work and enjoy solving real time problems, this role is for you

Key Accountabilities/Outcomes

  • Assist operations manager in overseeing manufacturing line operations, being the subject expert matter in the process.
  • Lead Kaizen workshops, identifying key processes, resulting in tangible key performance indicator improvements.
  • Develop technical mastery of our core production process
  • Provide technical support to the operations, quality, and maintenance functions with the aim of reducing manufacturing defects while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements – HAACP, FDA, FSMA, etc.
  • Identify, lead, and implement improvements utilizing lean tools and methodology.
  • Obtain mechanical knowledge of the equipment used on the line through hands on interaction and develop standard operating procedures (SOP) or standard work, to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Act as a change agent (leader) to instill a Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement culture on site and in related areas of the company. Ensuring and prepping your peers have everything they need to set them up for success.
  • Frequently track events happening on the manufacturing floor, build data model and analyze, then present data (OEE) to management team daily.
  • Communicate heavily across different function regarding material & ingredient shortages, delayed startups, prolonged process, safety incidents to allow the team to react against any unplanned downtime.
  • Prepare, modify, and maintain flow diagrams and P&ID’s as well as equipment, instrumentation and production specifications
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • B.S. or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experiences with 0-3 years of working experiences, we accept fresh graduates
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerBi, visio, etc.), CAD (AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.) and PLC (Allen Bradley) familiarity a plus
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, and work well in a team based environment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Preferred:

  • 3+ years’ experience in engineering/operations, preferably in food & beverage manufacturing
  • Experience with continuous improvement, LEAN, Six Sigma, TPM, or related processes
  • Experience supporting test, commissioning, validation, startups, and production runs
  • Experience with process technology documentation, including Process Flow Sheets, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Mass and Energy Balances, Process Control Strategies, and Process Specifications.
