Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

The Insurance Verification Specialist contacts insurance companies to determine pre-certification, prior authorization and/or medical necessity requirements for outpatient Radiology Procedures. Submits all appropriate clinical information to acquire authorization. Works closely with physicians and physician office staff when needed to obtain additional clinical information. Apply critical thinking skills to identify and resolve opportunities to avoid a denial from payers or the insurance companies to maximize reimbursement.

Knowledge of Radiology exams and/or procedures.


This position is 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.


This position requires filling in at the clinics for call outs. The on-site days will be sporadic and may be unplanned.


Requirements:

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years Healthcare Experience
  • Knowledge of medical insurance and medical terminology
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of Epic preferred
  • Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
