What Are We Looking For?

 

Defy is looking for a Lead Medical Assistant to add to our growing team. The Medical Assistant Team plays a pivotal role in the patient care plan. Through patience, integrity, communication, and understanding a Medical Assistant will guide our patients to feeling better and improving their lives.

A Medical Assistant at Defy is outgoing and enjoys helping people. They can adapt and learn new computer programs quickly. Multitasking, communication, and critical thinking are pillars for a Medical Assistant. Patient care is the key element to being successful in this role.

 

For the role of Lead Medical Assistant, some duties and responsibilities are listed below.

 

  • Monitor department productivity in Help Scout.
  • Monitor processing of Medical Team tickets and all tasks within the MA dept.
  • Assist with handling escalated patient calls or complaints and provide resolution.
  • Assist with new hire training.
  • Work with coaching and developing associate performance
  • Respond to staff questions via Teams
  • Assist with training new hires

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Phone triage patients throughout the country via telemedicine
  • Handle high volume phone traffic
  • Communicating with providers
  • Maintain client and employee privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients and providing follow up education
  • Transmitting prescription refills as directed
  • Check voicemails and return customer calls
  • Maintain email communication with patients, vendors and co-workers daily
  • Provide quality customer service and using effective communication

 

Qualifications

  • 2 + years experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Phlebotomy Experience
  • Leadership Skills
  • Certified Medical Assistant is a plus but not required
  • Coaching and Development
  • Effective communication

 

Shift

  • Monday - Friday 10:15am-7pm
