Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our direct client's infrastructure support team in Jessup, MD. As a Systems Administrator Level 2, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing various components within our client's infrastructure, including relational databases, AWS platform, Kubernetes, Docker containers, and more.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in system administration, with proficiency in troubleshooting, disaster recovery, scripting, and DevOps methodologies.


**MUST have an Active Full Scope Polygraph. **

**MUST report and work on-site daily **


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize relational databases, with a focus on Postgres.
  • Administer and enhance product security, integration, and performance within the AWS platform.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes platform and Docker containers.
  • Perform holistic troubleshooting across application tier, database, and storage layers.
  • Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues.
  • Establish and maintain disaster recovery processes.
  • Utilize Git, Linux, and Bash Scripting for automation and configuration management.
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bamboo, Confluence) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Yum updates, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, NodeJS administration, and C2S is a plus.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or a related role.
  • Full Scope Polygraph clearance is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in relational database administration, particularly with Postgres.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS platform administration and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker containers, and container orchestration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple layers of the infrastructure stack.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and proficiency in Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
