Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.
With 683 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. DIS is proud to be one of the few schools globally to offer both the IB's Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diploma programs in a variety of languages. In addition to English and French, other languages currently taught in the school are Spanish, German and Mandarin Chinese.
The school offers a rigorous curriculum integrating the best practices of French and American education. Upon completion of the French Baccalaureate or the IB Diploma program, our students go to college in the United States or internationally in countries such as France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain or Australia, among others.
The part time Custodian at the Waterview campus will assist with the daily functions of the Facilities department to include routine cleaning and maintenance procedures; and maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.
Job duties (include but are not limited to):
- Keep the premises clean and organized.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks.
- Undertake heavy cleaning tasks.
- Sweep, mop, or vacuum the floors.
- Empty trash cans.
- Scrub, sanitize, and replenish restrooms located on each floor.
- Dust walls, furniture, and equipment.
- Ensure that all windows and mirrors are clean.
- Follow proper instructions on how to mix chemicals.
- Clean and polish aluminum, metals, and stainless steel.
- Notify the Director of Facilities in case repairs are needed.
- Water inside plants once a week on each floor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with three years experience in similar capacity (preferred)
- Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies
