Highly Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CGFM designation.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar government contract accounting software.
  • Knowledge of DCAA audit requirements.
  • Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements and their financial impact.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time with flexible hours (up to 20 hours per week).
  • Occasional on-call work may be required to meet deadlines.
  • Hybrid or remote work options available.

Financial Record Management:

  • Keep precise financial records, including ledgers, journals, and account reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing and payments.

Government Contract Accounting:

  • Oversee federal government contract accounting, including cost allocation, billing, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, Wide Area Workflow, and other relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports and documentation to government agencies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for commercial and government contracts.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and organizational policies.

Financial Reporting:

  • Generate accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement enhancements to bookkeeping and accounting processes.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in government contract accounting.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work with project management and procurement departments for accurate financial tracking and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to corporate vendors as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in federal government contract accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and CAS.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
