Spiritual Care Provider Maternal Child Health

NACC’s mission is to promote the health & wellness of mind, body, and spirit of Native American families. We offer a full range of healthcare services that include Medical, Behavioral Health, Dental, Spiritual Care and Substance Abuse Programs. This individual provides spiritual care and support services to clients as well as consultations to providers. The ideal candidate is a credible role model in the community and has good relationships with key partners and stakeholders including community agencies and tribal entities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Share knowledge and teachings by facilitating talking circles and healing ceremonies, such as harvesting medicines from the NACC garden, offering tobacco, prayer and smudging.
- Leads spiritual care groups for staff and community.
- Participates in weekly meetings; provides support for staff and clients.
- Collaborates in the development and facilitation of treatment care plans to address spiritual and cultural needs of clients and staff.
- Provides culturally-specific and trauma informed spiritual care to clients, including those with co-occuring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Provides outreach and works in collaboration with other community agencies and tribal entities.
- Organizes and provides leadership to NACCs Elder Council.
- Connects clients with social services for resources if needed.
- Connects clients with medical, behavioral health, harm reduction and dental services if needed and desired.
- Work with medical and tribal health departments to coordinate care for pregnant clients.
- Work with parental advocate for care coordination and facilitate parental classes
- Coordinate and facilitate traditional healing workshops related to maternal child health
- Become doula certified through the Ninde Doula program
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality for all relatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education and/or experience: One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Proof of current COVID-19 vaccination.
- Computer skills required: Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook)
- Other skills required: Knowledgeable about Native American communities and tribal entities, as well as spiritual and cultural values, beliefs and practices.
