Job Summary:

The primary job of the Logistics Coordinator will include coordinating and planning shipping logistics. This includes planning ahead with our Project Managers (PM) and Yard Foreman, while working with vendors, freight forwarders, permit sources and load escorts.

  • Essential Functions:
  • Support all TTI/FSS Company and OSHA Safety Policies to ensure they are followed, and men and equipment are kept safe.  Working closely with company HSE team.
  • Coordinate and plan shipments with PMs and Yard Foreman.  Participate in production and planning meetings as required.  Take notes and ask questions. Set meetings with personnel when needed.
  • Ensure R&S Coordinators have all the paperwork they need to properly check and plan loads by working with the PMs. Work with upper management when required for specialized loads.
  • Work with internal sources, vendors, and freight forwards to get the most cost effective on time solutions.
  • Work with R&S Superintendents and Yard Foreman to plan loads and ensure all parts are loaded and/or issues promptly communicated to the associated PMs.
  • As required working with PM’s and outside vendors visit jobsite, routes to coordinate and obtain permits, escorts, trucks, etc. for over dimensional loads

This position will daily coordinate / communicate with the PM, Yard Foreman, and Superintendents.

This position will report directly to the Operations Manager while working closely with Project Managers and Shipping Superintendent.

Additional Duties:

Additional responsibilities or duties may be required as needed in support of company operations.

Quality Standards

Must be able to understand drawings and the appropriate codes, standards and FDHWY, DOT and OSHA specifications, rules, and regulations.

Teamwork

Actively participate in production meetings and others safety, planning/coordinating, and training meetings.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner.  The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school education and relevant specialized training.
  • Over-dimensional loading and shipping planning experience preferred.
  • 5+ years logistics experience required.
  • Management and supervisory skills required.
  • Experienced in all Microsoft Office programs and computer skills

Language Skills

The Logistics Manager must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally and/or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, and vendors.
