This role involves cross-functional collaboration, hands-on analysis of complex business concepts, and the creation of innovative solutions. You will have the autonomy to work with team members, business associates, and clients directly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytical solutions by understanding the needs of business stakeholders.
  • Enhance domain expertise and contribute to the growth of the data science field.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and promote data science awareness among peers and customers.
  • Define and initiate new analytical projects.
  • Gather, connect, and preprocess both structured and unstructured data from various sources, including internal databases, open data platforms, and third-party providers.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA), test hypotheses, and identify significant trends and relationships in member data, especially for open-ended questions.
  • Create statistical analyses and machine learning models to explain and predict trends in membership growth, retention, and engagement.
  • Design visualizations and integrate them into comprehensive dashboards for stakeholders to monitor and respond to key membership trends.
  • Compile a compelling narrative that articulates analytical results to support insight-driven decision-making.
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests from team members.
  • Assist in acquiring and integrating new data sources into the data lake.
  • Engage with external clients, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Combine disparate data sets to produce research papers, dashboards, and other deliverables.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in Data Science and related fields to keep projects relevant.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or in a similar analytical role.
  • 3 to 5 years of coding experience with Python, R, or Scala.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with data processing (ETL) and traditional structured databases like SQL or Oracle.
  • Experience in developing and deploying supervised and unsupervised machine learning models (e.g., regression models, random forests, NLP, visual recognition, clustering).
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, matplotlib, or ggplot.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, including their compute, storage, and analytics services.
  • Experience with AI tools and services on Azure or AWS, as well as ML platforms and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of project and task management tools.
  • Experience working in collaborative teams using code repositories, and processes like GitHub for code check-in, review, and check-out cycles.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
