2024 Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey and Youth Tobacco Survey Research Assistant Needed


Temporary Employment, mid-September to mid-December 2024


We are looking for a Research Assistant to support the 2024 Maryland Youth Risk Behavior Survey and Youth Tobacco Survey (MD YRBS/YTS). This position will be onsite at the ICF offices in Rockville, MD.


Responsibilities for the research assistant include:

  • Assembling and printing materials to support data collector training, school invitations, and administrative field forms in preparation for data collection, including:
  • Assembling generic packets using pre-printed forms
  • Packaging materials for mail distribution
  • Following established protocol in a timely manner and conducting quality control checks
  • Supporting the development of the web survey instruments, including
  • Testing and reporting errors or bugs to programming team members
  • Entering test data to create dummy datafiles
  • Processing incoming data collection materials following an established protocol, including:
  • Tracking receipt of packages received from field staff
  • Processing Classroom Information Forms
  • Confirming expected counts as reported by field staff
  • Entering survey responses into the web-based system
  • Working with onsite survey support team to assist with other duties, as assigned
Requirements:

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proficient in the use of computers, including accounting software, database software, document management software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact productively with supervisors and peers
  • Superb organizational and time management skills
  • Prior clerical experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Type: Part-time (16-20 hours per week); temporary as needed


Salary: $15.00 /hour

Hours are flexible but must be between our standard working hours of 8:30am-5:00pm
