Salary: $24.25-$26.25 per hour

MAJOR DUTIES: The Supervisor works closely with the Program Director. The Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the provision of non-clinical services to clients enrolled in withdrawal management services. The employee assists the Program Director with oversight for all Withdrawal Management Aides while on shift and in the absence of the Withdrawal Management Aide Director. This position provides clinical services to agency patients. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:

  1. Continue to perform all shift duties outlined in the CNA/MA aide job description.
  2. Act as the Supervisor while on shift.
  3. Assist the program director performing all WM aide monthly supervisions.
  4. Assist the program director with the scheduling of the Withdrawal Management Aides.
  5. Coordination, ordering and inventorying supplies for all Withdrawal Management services as per Supervisor.
  6. Ensure that all Withdrawal Management Aides are performing their job duties.
  7. Participate and complete all needed documentation for the Safety Committee.
  8. Ensuring full communication between the medical, clinical staff team members and the Aide staff team members.
  9. Address and communicate any staffing concerns with Withdrawal Management Program Director.
  10. Monitor all safety concerns in the withdrawal management units and reporting them immediately.
  11. Orientation and training of all new Withdrawal Management Aides as assigned by Program Director
  12. Ensure compliance with all applicable Lifeline Connections policies and procedures.
  13. Help prepare and present information and training to Withdrawal Management Aides as assigned by the Withdrawal Management Aide Director that meets the needs of the changing trends in the milieu.
  14. May provide shift coverage and nights and weekend work.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

  1. Washington State Licensed CNA or MA
  2. College coursework in substance use dependency preferred;
  3. Experience and training in the delivery of services to alcohol and other drug effected individuals and their families;
  4. Demonstrated experience providing supervision and/or mentoring to subordinate staff or co-workers preferred.
  5. Current unencumbered driver license and proof of current car insurance required for Withdrawal Management staff members
  6. Demonstrated experience at providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals early in recovery from alcohol and other drugs.
  7. CPR/1st Aid certification required; must obtain within 14 days of hire.
  8. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing;
  9. Great attendance; and
  10. Ability to work well with others.

GUIDELINES

The position requires that the incumbent maintain standards delineated in WAC 246-341, or its successor, and maintains licensure with the Department of Health. The incumbent relies on specialized training and/or equivalent experience in the field of substance use dependency treatment, DBHR, WACs and RCWs of Washington and the performance standards developed for the position.

COMPLEXITY

The incumbent provides program oversight and supervision to clients who differ widely in age and socioeconomic status and who may possess a variety of chronic and serious social, behavioral and psychological problems. Autonomy, maturity, sound judgment, and creativity are required to help identify and monitor policies and milieu activities that will meet the complex needs of both patients and staff.

PERSONAL CONTACTS

Contacts are with members of the treatment team, patients, significant others of the clients, Board of Directors, representatives of various community agencies specializing in the treatment of chemical abuse and related community representatives including lawyers, probation officers, and other court officials. All personal contacts are carried out in accordance with federal and state laws dealing with the confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patient records.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or move a maximum of 20 lbs. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Most working hours are spent indoors in offices or meeting rooms. Occasional supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities may be required.
