Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: The Maintenance Planner and Maintenance Systems Superintendent will oversee the maintenance workflow process and maximize effectiveness of overall maintenance functions onsite at the plant, including electrical and mechanical systems; maintenance of production equipment and the physical plant, utilities, and the grounds.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Lead the maintenance team, oversee maintenance planner related functions and consistently maintain protection of the environment, health, and safety of all employees, contractors, visitors at the plant.
  • Manage work schedules for the maintenance technicians and make work assignments for maintenance, electrical, and mechanical related tasks and functions for the plant.
  • Work closely with the management team to monitor employees onsite, make recommendations to elevate the quality of work performed, and continuously promote safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate and provide oversight for all planning related to mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance that provide daily support to plant operations.
  • Responsible for the overall mechanical reliability of the plant including fixed and rotating equipment, and buildings.
  • Identify and reduce, and/or eliminate production losses and high maintenance cost assets to promote plant objectives related to environmental, health and safety, asset capability, quality, and production.
  • Act as the main resource and point of contact to strategically develop preventative plans to resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Develop best practices when establishing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Maintain KPI’s for plant performance.
  • Conduct root cause and failure analysis (RCFA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to mitigate risk for the organization.
  • Work closely with Plant Manager to effectively oversee and evaluate maintenance parts and labor budget to communication with vendors to clarify job scope, obtain quotes for materials and services.
  • Champion mechanical integrity and quality assurance programs to mitigate risk.
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety related best practices, policies, and procedures, including process safety management (PSM).
  • Diligently adhere to and fulfill all Responsible Care® requirements, demonstrate a steadfast commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and ethical practices in all aspects of your position within the organization.
What We Require:
  • Excellent leadership and management skills with a proven ability to coordinate employees, teams and departments with different skill sets at all levels of the organization.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations related to plant operations and maintenance. 
  • Ability to understand and operate the systems and equipment used at the chemical plant; perform and analyze various system checks. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Teams. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment drawings, safety procedures, including federal and state OSHA guidelines. 
  • Ability to demonstrate safety when using hand tools and hand power tools commonly used in maintenance work and tasks. 
  • Must have a strong understanding of the properties, behaviors, and hazards of equipment.
  • Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, if necessary, with the confidence to lead and direct a team.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering , electrical engineering or similar field.
  • Ten years of experience in supervisory and leadership related roles that combine technical, managerial, and financial expertise.
  • Experience creating maintenance plans, scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance and repair work, and new equipment installations for a chemical plant. 
  • Experience working in Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated facilities preferred.
