JOB SUMMARY: Operates forklift in moving and handling material within the plant by following work instructions pertaining to the following areas.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proficient in Forklift Operator duties.
  2. Transport grids & pasted plates as needed.
  3. Transport raw materials, racks, skids and other materials to the line to ensure uninterrupted flow of production.
  4. Remove finished goods from the line to ensure uninterrupted flow of production.
  5. Respond whenever paged to an area as soon as possible.
  6. Moved finished goods, raw materials and WIP (Work In Progress) as directed by the supervisor.
  7. Comply with all plant Health Safety & Environmental rules.
  8. Maintains and organizes racks and shelves.
  9. Labels products with part number and date.
  10. Applies “move tickets” to required materials.
  11. Maintains move ticket boxes.
  12. Verifies packing slip for returned goods.
  13. Determines if returned goods go to stock or orders.
  14. Fill in or assist the SLI Receiving/Inventory Control Clerks when necessary.
  15. Trains new hires or transfers.
  16. Completes daily paperwork and recordkeeping.
  17. Transport scrap and hazardous waste containers to the Recycle Pad/Hazardous Waste Area.
  18. Transport empty scrap and hazardous waste containers to plant locations when paged.
  19. Enters scrap & hazardous waste data into logs daily.
  20. Labels hazardous waste and scrap containers.
  21. Familiar with Receiving/Inventory Control Clerk and Forklift Operators duties.
  22. Is responsible for:
  • Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
  • Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
  • Controlling nonconforming products
  • Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
  1. Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Production Supervisor.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Forklift license
  • Safety training

  • High School Diploma

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Lifting 25 to 75 lbs., frequent climbing off and on forklift.
