The Role

In this role, you will support field employees with daily safety needs as well as empower managers and supervisors to incorporate safety into their operations by managing and maintaining critical health and safety processes in this region. A regional safety coordinator is responsible for overseeing employee’s safety at work, then planning and implementing best practices in order to reduce injuries and control loss. The job takes best practices and ensures they are being carried out in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out corporate safety directions at the local regional level
  • Participating in and leading safety meetings
  • Compiling and presenting safety data to leadership
  • Support field employees daily within the safety capacity
  • Help with coordinating safety training
  • Conduct site safety audits and inspections on job sites and service calls
  • Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis, corrective actions (RCCA)
  • Work with human resources department to onboard new employees for safety
  • Works closely with the Training and Development department for safety training
  • Assist with reporting and managing claims for auto and workers comp

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in construction safety with strong knowledge of field safety
  • Strong bias for action
  • A degree in a safety-related field of study (in progress OK)
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA industry regulations (1926)
  • Excellent knowledge of hazard recognition and control
  • Good time-management skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Proficient in MS office suite
